Tools & Design1

We only build in ‘Responsive Web Design’ (RWD) – a 3-in-1 design that changes it’s layout for desktop, tablet and smart phone devices. Our sites are built completely with Google in mind and include a built in Search Engine Optimisation tool to get you found for your various keywords.

We strictly only build using WordPress CMS software platform.

A content management system (CMS) is a computer application that allows publishing, editing and modifying content, organizing, deleting as well as maintenance from a central interface. Such systems of content management provide procedures to manage workflow in a collaborative environment. These procedures can be manual steps or an automated cascade. CMS’s have been available since the late 1990s.

CMS’s are often used to run websites containing blogs, news, and shopping. Many corporate and marketing websites use CMS. CMS’s typically aim to avoid the need for hand coding, but may support it for specific elements or entire pages.

If you are not using CMS  with WordPress we can rebuild or upgrade your website using this software.

Specialising in working with responsive web design formats.

We are proud to boast that we were using responsive web layouts before the likes of gumtree, eBay, many financial institutions, government websites and various other major online businesses and companies.

There are still millions of online businesses that do not use responsive designs and if they don’t convert soon it will affect their ranking in the Google search engines which could have an impact on their sales. We’re currently seeing an average of 32% of website visitors from mobile devices across our clients (and growing), with many up around the 55-65% mark.

Our first full experimentation with (RWD) was in mid 2012 the next year in early 2013 we had built our first fully (RWD) website and the rest is progress.

Some history on (RWD) and uscss3-media-queries

A site layout example that adapts to browser view port width was first demonstrated by Cameron Adams in 2004. By 2008, a number of related terms such as “flexible”, “liquid”, “fluid”, and “elastic” were being used to describe layouts. CSS3 media queries were almost ready for prime time in late 2008/ early 2009. This was when we first heard of this type of layout (2009), we began to study and experiment with (RWD) to keep up to date with all the progress involved with (RWD), it was a slow process and sometimes very costly, we worked and studied hard in all fields related to getting from DNS configuration to final completion of a website with back up and regular updates. At the early stages we received loads of criticism and told we were mad and it was a waste of time pursuing and our websites were to basic, but what one doesn’t realize is, we can only work within ones budget, low budget equals basic. As time past we were able to find new clients that wanted us to take over their existing websites from their previous web designers, with a more generous budget to work with we were able to show our full potential in web design, now some of our work is showcased all over the world. We thank all those clients that made that switch with us and of course the wonderful team with excellent support from WordPress. This was a worth while project and career move to pursue and this is the future.

Ethan Marcotte

Ethan Marcotte coined the term responsive web design (RWD) and defined it to mean fluid grid/ flexible images/ media queries—in a May 2010. He described the theory and practice of responsive web design in his brief 2011 book titled Responsive Web Design. Responsive design was listed as #2 in Top Web Design Trends for 2012 by .net magazine after progressive enhancement at #1.

Mashable called 2013 the Year of Responsive Web Design. Many other sources have recommended responsive design as a cost-effective alternative to mobile applications.

Forbes featured a piece, ‘Why You Need To Prioritize Responsive Design Now‘ where the importance was made clear that having a mobile version of your website isn’t enough anymore. Jody Resnick, President of Trighton Interactive stated in his interview with Forbes, “Responsive websites simplify internet marketing and SEO. Instead of having to develop and manage content for multiple websites, businesses with responsive sites can take a unified approach to content management because they have only the one responsive site to manage.

Resnick predicts, “As the Internet transforms further into a platform of services and user interfaces that tie those services together, leveraging this technology in the future will allow companies to integrate a plethora of back-end services, such as Facebook, Twitter, Salesforce.com, and Amazon Web Services, and then present the integrated data back out the front-end iad layer on a responsive design so the application looks great on all devices without custom coding needed for each device or screen size.”
